This project was created as part of a User Experience course during my Masters Program at the Centre for Digital Media. My design partner and I were tasked with solving the problem of how to reserve washers and dryers in shared laundry units. We researched our target user base, developed personas and wrote user stories – all with the goal of understanding how to reduce friction when it comes to doing laundry. We discovered that a web-based app with a time-based reservation system would work for our users and developed a high fidelity prototype in Axure RP in order to demonstrate our solution. Our final prototype was inspired by minimal interfaces like Siri that use deep learning and intuitive language to assist users in as friendly a way as possible.
